Experience of running the Cheltenham Cross Country course is very important, as inexperienced runners often do not do well. The Enda Bolger stable is one to watch out for, as they have specially developed cross country fences for training and tis certainly seems to be paying dividends with them having all top three places in 2009 and four winners out of the five cross country races.
For three out of the last four years the winner of the PP Hogan Cross Country Chase at Punchestown has gone on to win the Cheltenham Cross Country.
